Should I Let Go of My Desire?

Desires can be very irritating. Sometimes pursuing your desire is like chasing a hummingbird. And there will inevitably be times when it seems like your heart’s desire is impractical, or even impossible.

Should you give it up? Would it be more spiritual to let it go?

Dive deeply into your desires. Go deeper still. We’re always dwelling on the surface of it, trying to limit desire to something our minds can hold. Desire is much, much bigger than that.

Dive into the river of desire; swim to the Ocean of longing.

When you really feel your desire with every level of your being, body, mind, heart, and soul, you will find the answer that you seek. Be open to something new emerging from the wisdom that comes from the depth of your heart. Perhaps it is a new strategy, or a new way of thinking of it; perhaps it is a new direction.

The perfect way to dive deeply into your desire is to give your heart your attention, and the incredible energy of your deep, full, rhythmic breath, as we do in Heart Rhythm Meditation.

I’d love to hear your thoughts. Please share here.

Yours in the One Heart,

P.S. Thank you to all who have applied to our two-year University of the Heartprogram; all applications must be in by July 1st.
